Trower played in a very different style for most of his time in PH - it's nice that he had so much talent to sort of 're-invent" himself by the time he left in a more Hendrix-vein; The Devil Came From Kansas has a fluid, psychotic solo that packs a real wallop (from A Salty Dog.)
Big Abrahams fan. Didn't see him in Tull or his bands while still in England - and I don't believe they did any touring of the southeast States?
