    Forgotten Bands of the Sixties

The Shadows. It's a really good instrumental rock band from the early 60s. I guess it got overshadows by bands such as The Ventures and the like. Here are some of their greatest songs:Apache, Man of mystery, F.B.I, Wonderful land and Cavatina (Deer hunter theme). Enjoy!

What's your favorite pre British invasion musician/band?

I like the Kingsmen. Their cover of Twist and Shout is really good, the sound quality is much worse, but I like it. Also a I prefer American type accents more to British ones, probably why I like it so much. I like The Beach Boys. I haven’t listened to a lot of the Byrds. Look what I found

    Underrated Rock artists

I’m thinking of planning a certain time where everyone joins and talks on the forum. What time works best for you. Keep in mind that we may have European users on there so we need to have something that suits both demographics.

What's your favorite pre British invasion musician/band?

I think that the surf Rock from that era was very good. Stuff like Dick Dale and the Ventures. Let’s not forget the English rock instrumental band the Shadows. I highly recommend them.

What's your favorite pre British invasion musician/band?

Great choice! Dick Dale has some awesome instrumentals. He basically created surf rock music.

What's your favorite pre British invasion musician/band?

I like songs such as “how deep is your love”, it’s disco but it’s certainly better than something like “YMCA”. Man I hate that song. Whenever people seem to pick a song that isn’t from the 2000s it’s 70s sonf, I wonder why. I despise rap, especially the mumble rap era of today. It’s infecting...

What's your favorite pre British invasion musician/band?

That’s really interesting. You have definitely listened to a lot. Let me ask, did you like or dislike disco music? I’m still pretty young, but I have definitely listened to a lot different music. Thanks to the internet, it’s easier to find all this music compared to 20 years ago. I started...

What's your favorite pre British invasion musician/band?

Jerry Lee Lewis is a great musician. I do not not about his career in the 60s though, there was a lot of controversy when he married his cousin.

What's your favorite pre British invasion musician/band?

There must have been bands who continued to play the American Rock’n’Roll from the 50s. They may have been obscure though and may have not been signed to any record labels. Are there any American bands from that time who played Chuck Berry styled Rock’n’Roll and had that 50s sound during that...

What's your favorite pre British invasion musician/band?

I’m a big fan of the instrumental bands and singers. Duane Eddy was great. Peter Gunn is my favorite Duane song. The good stuff from those times sadly dissapeared because of the British Invasion.

What's your favorite pre British invasion musician/band?

It was a pretty quiet time. So many great rockers lost their career (Jerry Lee Lewis).

What's your favorite pre British invasion musician/band?

Hi there. When we think about the 60s we think about the Beatles, Rolling Stones etc. The British invasion didn't really start until 1964 though so there were a 4 year gap between all those bands came. This time was pretty quiet, nearly all the American Rock And Rollers were gone, many dead...

    Hi there fellas!

They are some of the best from that era. same thing goes to Eddie Cochran and Buddy Holly, definetely lost potential. This is definetely the best well made forum about Classic Rock. The other ones seem very innactive or old. I'm also familiar with the interface on this forum, it's used on many...
