    I think you know it when you hear it. I think grunge and new wave were fun trends but that those trends gave us some classic rock. I think some rock is 'classic rock' the day it's new. take "rockin' in the free world' please!

    I wish I'd seen more of the great acts in this thread! check out some you tube on Alice or SAHB, those guys were really showmen! If I had it to do all over again, I'd probably still have seen Zep.

    I saw Zep when they toured on 'Houses of the Holy' and it was pretty amazing. it was John Bonham's birthday and they did a Bonus drum solo "moby dick'. Page bowed his guitar and everybody seemed to be high on something. hell of a night. I'll never forget it!

    that's pretty sad. me, I have almost nothing nice to say about the Asylum Records days but DF had a rep for helping people on their way up. he always seemed like somebody who would have been doing what he was doing even if he wasn't getting paid to do it. RIP, Fogel-dude. no doubt about it...

    I think a new prog band will come along and make a lot of money and then a lot of prog bands will get in the hall of fame. I think that's basically what happened with all the new wave acts.
