    Fleetwood Mac (Official Thread)

I saw them in 72 and in 76. I liked the 76 lineup better, but both were very good.

    Joe Bonamassa (Official Thread)

Joe is a very versatile guitarist. His is not a "heard one and you have heard them all" style. His songs can be placed in a variety of genres. Definitely one of my favorite musicians!

    Blues Series#11: Savoy Brown-Raw Sienna

Just my opinion, I preferred Savoy Brown after Kim Simmonds took over. I saw them 3 times and they were great every time. Wire Fire is my favorite album. Not taking away from any of them, I am, and have been for more than 35 years, a huge Savoy Brown fan!

    Joe Walsh/James Gang (Official Thread)

Re: Joe Walsh/James Gang I went to a Joe Walsh concert in the 70's that REO Speedwagon was the backup band. I went to see REO, because I really like Gary Richrath's guitar playing. It was after Joe Walsh & Barnstorm(early 70's), but well before The Eagles. Anyway, Walsh's guitar playing was...

Best artists to start into the blues?

Roy was great, his music still is. His guitar playing was pure, no gimmicks. He played a 1953 Fender Telecaster he named "Nancy", and also a 1956 Telecaster Guild. Such a great talent. Sure wish he was still alive. His guitar playing will live forever!

    Who's got the blues?

SRV was tremendously talented. He made playing his guitar look as natural to him as walking. What a great blues guitarist! I play his music almost daily, absolutely weekly.

    Who's got the blues?

I just got a cd called Bloodline, by Bloodline, a few days ago. It is very good. It was made in 94 and was their only release. Joe Bonamassa was the guitarist, before he formed his own band. The group's members were Erin Davis (son of Miles Davis), Waylon Krieger (son of Robby Krieger...

What was the 70's (in music)

Alice Cooper had "The Show" performance. I saw him hung twice and beheaded once. I was 16 in 1971 and was leaning on the stage in Fayetteville NC the first time I saw him. Freaked me out. I hadn't seen anything like that at the time. I had seen Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, etc, but...

Bands you love that you wouldn't see live

All of them. I went to countless concerts in the 70's. I guess the prices then spoiled me. The costs of attending a concert now just isn't worth it to me. I really would have liked to have seen Joe Bonamassa in Charlotte NC last month. Just couldn't bring myself to drive 60 miles, pay for...

    Influential Jazz Artists?

I have always considered Shawn Phillips a progressive jazz artist. His style is unique. He is a very talented musician. His voice is not refined by any means, but he fits it to his music. Any other thoughts on his style, whether it would be classified jazz or not?

Best artists to start into the blues?

It was. You posted this:Fantastic blues guitarist. Released his first album in 1995 at the age of 17. He was self taught, but has played with the heavy itters in blues such as Bryan Lee and B. B. King. My favorite release so far from KWS is his second album "trouble is" which was released in...
