    Favorite 1985 Albums

But to answer your question, those two are my favorite records from 1985. Brothers in Arms is up there too.

    Favorite 1985 Albums

Where is Hounds of Love? That’s probably the most acclaimed album of ‘85? Where is Tom Waits?

    Kate Bush or Pat Benatar?

That’s all fine and you obviously have a right to your opinion, but there’s a lot more to Bush’s music than what you’re claiming there is. I see a few fallacies surrounding the type of music you think she makes, but that’s understandable considering you don’t like her stuff. I believe she’s far...

The most amazing song you have ever heard!

    A masterpiece unrivaled.

    Kate Bush or Pat Benatar?

Kate. I feel like a lot of people are voting Pat solely off recognition. As an artist, Bush dwarfs her in comparison and it’s not even close. Benatar never made a record close to the quality of Hounds of Love, The Dreaming, or even Kick Inside.

    Guilty pleasures?

A lot of 80’s hits are in this category for me. I also declare to be a fan of Elton’s earlier, folkier material.

    Re-introduction

I would also like to add that my tastes have grown exponentially in the time period between my first post and my last one. Maturity has also factored into it a great deal.

    Re-introduction

Hello everyone, I joined this forum a couple of years ago, but sadly didn’t engage as much as I could have. I also forgot my password and wasn’t able to login in for a long time. There’s quite a time jump between my previous posts and my current ones. Nevertheless, my password has been...

    Joanna Newsom

A bit on the softer, folkier side, but her lyricism and ambition is rarely matched by contemporary musicians. Any fans?

Not really a solo but the bits and pieces that shine through are absolutely splendid.

Respected Musicians Who Were Actually Terrible People

Yeah, the video in the OP seems a bit sketchy. A lot of the reasons it’s giving for artists being judged as a “bad person”, are mainly whether or not they were faithful to their wives. I could debate the morality of such an action, but there’s more to “bad people” than just their level of...

Thread Closed What Are You Listening To?

Not my favorite by his, and his lyricism is a little toned down a bit. Great album nonetheless.

    Led Zeppelin (Official Thread)

Just got a deluxe remaster copy of Physical Graffiti in the mail earlier this week... came with some bonus tracks that I couldn't find a source for on the internet. No other deluxe copy I look up a track list for has them. Odd.

    Rap in Country

Till It's Gone is one of the best hip hop songs that came out this year. It's definetly got a swampy, country vibe to it. Yelawolf's in a lane of his own tbh

    Eminem (Official Thread)

Shady XV fell a bit short for me. Yelawolf shined bright on it though.

Hello guys.. I'm fairly new to the classic Rock genre. I've of course listened to the essentials. White Album, DSOTM, London Calling, Led Zepplin IV, etc. I came here to expand my taste in classic rock. Hope to feel at home.
