Even though Pulse is an excellent show and Delicate Sound of Thunder was also great that is not the original Floyd IMO.. Live in Pompeii is not a live show but a "staged" show done for the cameras.. It does however feature the original lineup (except Sid Barrett of course). It also has a more...
Well since it was recorded in 1971 I could understand that it is only stereo. I've owned it since the VHS days and back then I would just turn it up loud. 5.1 is nice for moves and newer recordings but since the source material is stereo I don't think it would improve much even if remastered...
Re: Phenomenon by UFO
This is my favorite UFO album as you can see from my avatar.. Just something about it that really appeals to me, vocals by Mogg and guitar by Schenker who was only about 19 at the time. Superb guitar playing IMO
By my calculations LG you would have been about 11 or 12.... Still kind of young for a show like that but perfectly acceptable with your parents or something. I would have been 7 years old... Great lineup for the time including Savoy Brown the predecessor to Foghat.
I couldn't find a thread on this guy so here it goes.. He is great guitarist and vocalist IMO and greatly underrated. And not to mention he is blind. I don't know of too many blind guitar virtuosos. Only one comes to mind and that would be the late Jeff Healy RIP.. He started in the 60's and is...

I saw Peter Gabriel in Dec 1986 at Reunion Arena in Dallas. It was a hell of a show. He was with his regular group and must of played at least two hours. I just realized that it was almost 25 years ago. It was the "So" tour

The same goes for a lot of other bands. Unfortunately the foresight was not there in many cases as well as the technology (audio and video) to produce decent quality (by today's standards).. IMO the look and sound of new recordings is so much better than old recordings that it kind of takes the...

Pioneers of Heavy Metal? Blue Cheer
I was not really familiar with this band (well in name). I had heard their version of Summertime Blues but did not know it was them. Any way it is claimed that they are the Pioneers of Heavy Metal. They pre-date Black Sabbath.
Here is a quote from...
Was never that big into punk except the Clash, the Ramones and I did like the Buzzcocks.
