Kiss and Def Leppard grind my gears, had to walk away from Def Leppard at Donington, utter bilge and if Kiss had been playing I would have stayed at home anyway. Brian Ferry I struggle with and there's a host of glam metal bands .. just not for me.
I find myself listening to and enjoying this band more and more. Not everybody's cup of tea I know but they press the right buttons for me.
Great album.
For me the Americans take it through the 50's to the early 60's, the Brits the mid to late 60's,70's and early 80's then back to America from the mid 80's to 2000 then the Scandinavians wade in. A very simplistic view and I can't really call this one.
Running through the new one now, they never fail as far as I'm concerned. Pure class as always but what does seem a bit odd is it is now 29 years since I saw this band. Their music has become part of growing up. I almost take these cats for granted and sort of expect quality every time...
I'll have a pop at this, so here's a few songs that make me think 60's ... I may well be back :D
The Turtles - Elenore
Love - Alone Again Or
Bob Dylan - Ballad Of Frankie Lee And Judas Priest
Beatles - I'm Only Sleeping
The Who - Magic Bus
The Lovin' Spoonful - Daydream
The Kinks - Dead End...
