I think the Go Gos version is the better composed one. Personally like the rawness of the original and wish some of that could have been kept in the Go Gos version. But that's not really the kind of band (musically) the Go Gos were so it makes sense.- mobiusclimber

The Textones version is the original. Kathy Valentine wrote and recorded it with that band before joining the Go-Gos. The Textones version came out in 1980 and the Go-Gos version in 82.- mobiusclimber
