    it's a shame Ry Cooder couldn't handle the Magic Band antics....his slide work on this is something else,as is Jerry Handley's manic bass. Taj Mahal assists this splendour. Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band- Electricity.

    ...not an "oldies list"...where I'm concerned, but the clue to the topic is in the title of the thread...predominantly songs with longevity. War On Drugs,Newcleus and Tame Impala have had as much personal effect on me as has music by Cream,Snafu or Tappa Zukie.
