What a strange thread this is.
Are we saying that these bands are best forgotten?
Or that they are the BEST of the forgotten bands of the 1970s?

Way back in the 1970s or early 80s I recall a Sunday morning politics programme called Weekend World, hosted by Brian Walden, with a memorable piece of music over the credits.

I'm beginning to find this quite an irritating thread - so many wonderful albums pop up here that I think, "Oh yes! I must fish that one out again and give it a spin", but ther just isn't enough time in the day to do it!

Robert John Godfrey solo album.
Pre-Enid, his first outing.
It's a bit of an acquired taste but if you like The Enid then you'll recognise a few themes and style.
Probably only one for Enid completists but a nice 40 minutes anyway.
Arrived just before lunch.
Turns out it's an unofficial Russian release, but beggars can't be choosers; I thought I'd never get a vinyl copy of this as the kosher ones are stupidly expensive.
