    Kansas (Official Thread)

Decided to listen and post some solo things by Robby Steinhardt-violin from Kansas, Steve Walsh -vocals and keys from Kansas and Kerry Livgren-guitar and keys and major songwriter. Never really paid much attention to them after they left Kansas so.... 'Not In Kansas Anymore' -Robby Steinhardt...

Why do you invest in music?

Couldnt find that thread where a few of us were talking about vinyl vs cd sound quality so....posted this here. Nice analysis and why some like vinyl and others like cd. I still buy vinyl on old records prior to 1979....mostly because I hunt obscure prog and psych and some have not been put...

Rate The Song Above You Part III

Decent song from Rainbow's first lp....not sure why its called 16th Century Greensleeves since it's not using the same themes/chords as the original written in 1580, but Blackmore has always had a fascination with older medieval and Elizabethean and early Brit folk as his present band shows...

Review CD Review - All Sinners - We Own the Night

Hmmmm....its going to sound like I'm dissing these guys, but I'm not. The problem with rock/metal bands like this is that they all sound too much alike for me. Similar mediocre downer lyrics and the same chord and song structures, and so on. They dont play bad imo ,but tere is nothing unique...

"The Riff That Won't Quit" Cheap Trick

Decent track but doesnt have that classic Trick sound for me......I think their first 5 or 6 lps are very good but for me they lost that vibe after that...though I have read that Cheap Trick (1997) black and white cover... is a return to the classic sound. Being a Trick fan which are your...

    Tool (Official Thread)

Never really paid much attention to Tool though they fall in the heavy prog metal area and I knew a few people who dug them some years back. Prog is my main interest so I just listened to Lateralus (which I heard when it came out ) 10,000 Days, and Fear Inoculum. My ears are still ringing. ;)...

Have All The Best Songs Been Written?

"globalist overlords want to destroy Western civilization." If they do then they wont have anybody to buy their corporations goods, spend money on their other products, or live in their world. My apologies for mentioning 'politics' but.... somethings are just like shooting fish in...

What Are You Listening to Now? Pics/Videos

Perhaps my favorite Heep lp ..the last heavy one before they went a bit more commercial imho. Many think they were a major influence on early prog metal like Iron Maiden and even Dream Theater later......when they came out after the first lp one reviewer said they sounded like a mutant version...

Ten Best Rock Albums Of All Time

Like to see a few more post their 'ten best'......as I said it seems to be 'our favorite ten' best because some of those posted aren't on other fan and critic lists.....indeed I have never even heard of Billy Nichols and a few others I mentioned above. And some of the others ,while they did...

    Review Neil Young- Everybody's Rockin' (1983) 0*

Definitely an odd lp......ELP did 'Love Beach' for similar reasons..contract disputes.....because they were pissed at the record co. They are both crappy albums not reflecting the artists true talent and genre. It would be interesting to read an article with Young talking about his lp.

    Review Neil Young- Everybody's Rockin' (1983) 0*

A review from the Classic Album Review channel..... I never bought it and I'm a Neil Young fan......I might give it 1 or 2 stars....he said he did it to piss off Geffen because he asked for a rock n roll lp. An argument about creative conflicts.
