Finally spent some time listening to those 3 artists mentioned above.
I'm not generally a fan of 'country music' but I do like some country rock.
The Louvin Brothers old time country/gospel is not for me at all.
Turnpike Troubadors had some interesting songs in that neo trad country rock style...
Every taste is subjective....if you like the 'hits' I would get Very Best of or Ultimate Hits or even Anthology ...they have more songs on them than the Living lp.
Emmit Rhodes.....fairly big pop rock star in the early 70's....(was in a psych pop band called Merry Go Round in late 60's.) He had several hit solo lps in 70/71.....this is from his last 'comeback lp' in 2016...he passed away in 2020.
Rainbow Ends- Dog On A Chain
Really enjoy the first 5 lps,,,,,after that he decided to write radio friendly songs...though many were very good and certainly made him a household name.
One of my favorites from 4th lp-Your Saving Grace
Babys House (with Nicky Hopkins on piano)
Carol mentioned Frampton in her This Year in Music thread so here is Peter in The Herd from 1967
singer and lead guitar...Louis Cennamo was also in the band who later was in Renaissance, Steamhammer ,and Armageddon.
From the Underworld (1967)
One of my all time favorite Dead Can Dance tracks..as well as favorite songs period.....profound lyrics .
Cardinal Sin
As countless fools
Are often loathe to testify
"It's an illusion of life
The whole cause of our demise"
Solid U2 song....my last favorite lp was Achtung Baby-last one I bought...... but Zooropa is good...8/10
A song from one of their collaborators a nd a favorite lp of mine
Eno
'Golden Hours' (Another Green World)
Hydrazoic posted 'Avalanche' by Cohen and Aero was curious abpout its meaning......so supposedly about how earth sees us humans.
Not many I know who listen to his music anymore....always thought he was very good but very melancholy most of the time. Canadian btw....and the name Cohen means...
Since Rush announced their new drummer and tour.....I thought of this....
from 2004 EP of 8 rock covers....I think we all probably know what the originals sound like.
Many Chicago fans think their best jazz fusion lp overall......(I prefer Chicago 2 a tad over this one) .....'Aire' from Chicago 7 with great guitar from Kath.
Decent track but not really familiar with their music ...sound like many hard rock bands with a bit of prog going on ...they r listed as prog related on Prog Archives....surprised me...7.5 because they r on PA.
My friend Ryan wanted me to listen to these guys ...hes a big fan....what say you...
*Sorry for the interruption....a wonderful lp...best since the early days imho....Andy Latimer on guitar -a founding mamber- has often been compared to Gilmour on guitar but has his own style imho.
