    Graham Parker (official thread)

In a Graham Parker mood....... Get Started Start a Fire The Mona Lisa's sister doesn't smile She tried to pose, but only for a while Leonardo sent her home Since then, she has lived alone With her few belongings and a copy Of a painting of herself unhappy She is going to burn it, when she's...

    Kansas (Official Thread)

Their first 5 lps are a must for all serious rock collections imho. I suppose my favorite lp is 'Leftoverture' as it probably is for many other Kansas fans , but this my favorite single track they ever did....the composition and changes are just superb and are a template for many of the later...

    Hello everyone …

Looking for 'favorite band threads'....and this popped up. Posted 8 months ago and the OP never came back. What's that all about.....wonder how often that happens here? BTW....found this if anyone is interested .....though doubtful with this forum. Nobody will even see this post. ;)...

    Worst style of music...... EVER.

I have never been drawn to hard core country, hard core rap, or hard core metal. I can listen to variations of those toned down a bit though they are not on my playlist. I've never understood why someone would want to listen to Judas Priest, Scorpions, or Def Leppard when you've already got...

When Your Debut Album Is A Smash

Had forgotten this thread and never answered Beatlematt's question. 'Black Sabbath' is definitely my favorite Sabbath lp....unique and iconic. Really like Paranoid but would keep the first over all others by them Led Zep is a more dfficult call. I was a senior ('69) getting ready to graduate...

An article about that lp and that time frame of the band and Anderson. Jethro Tull (Official Thread)

Doesn't surprise me since that's certainly one of their worst lps imho and least like a classic Tull sound. It has the lowest rating with Tull fans of any lp they did. For whatever reason Anderson wanted to use drum programming ,synths and an 80's style pop /rock sound which was odd since it...

Didnt know there was a VDGG thread......a band that even many prog fans have trouble assimilating. All the early ones are very good imho.....but dont really care for anything after Quiet Zone. The later band just didnt have the same feeling to me. Many praise 'Pawn Hearts' as their best but its...

I finally listened to California Blues and the best thing on it is a cover of Red House by Hendrix. The other tracks are recorded well but are imho mediocre tracks.
