For me it's between Mitch Mitchell and Ginger Baker.
I was surprised by how much Mitch Mitchell is worshiped by fellow drummers.
He is very highly regarded. A drummer's drummer.
But I'd take Ginger by just a bit.
I like Cream and Blind Faith a bit more than the JH Experience.
Maybe they will do what the Dead did and just keep on touring next summer after cleaning up on a farewell tour.
With Skynyrd I wouldn't even cry foul.
We can hope.
We may or may not see them this time around.
It will be lawn tickets if we do.
We have a lot of concerts scheduled during that time...
Good for them.
Note to self.
Avoid using the term "Surviving Members" when promoting a tour.
Have they done the "Feels Like The First Time Tour" yet?
I'd go with that.
Give the people what they want I say.
As long as it sells it's all good.
If they decide to release a compilation of Christmas favorites I'll cry foul.
A Zeppelin version of "Run Rudolf Run" would be a bridge too far IMO.
1. Louie Louie - The Kingsmen
2. It's My Party - Leslie Gore
3. Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
4. A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall - Bob Dylan
5. Wipeout - The Surfaris
6. Another Saturday Night - Sam Cooke
7. Surf City - Jan and Dean
8. Can't Get Used To Losing You- Andy Williams
9. I Like It - Gerry and...
I'd have to say that the first Taj Mahal album is a must.
It's been sighted by Gregg Allman as the reason why he and Dwayne started the Allman Brothers band.
Other artists have likewise mentioned it's influence.
I'm a huge Skynyrd fan.
I like Free Bird.
Because it means I can beat the traffic jam at the end of the show.
:&
But it's Skynyrd, which means it's awesome.
There might be some great Gregorian chant groups.
It doesn't mean that Gregorian chant music is all the rage.
Rock and Roll once ruled the world.
As it should.
Anything short of that is a reminder of how the mighty have fallen.
There just must be a better choice than Axl.
Miles Kennedy perhaps?
That would really burn his ass.
How about they get the kid from Greta Van Fleet.
A bit different style but still.
