Lindisfarne - 'Fog on the Tyne'
A bit of a throwback which will be lost on all non-UK participants on this forum.
You simply had to be there at the time... ;)
Can't believe that nothing has been posted in the 24 hours since his death, so I'll do it myself.
Hugely influential synth/orchestral musician with loads of film scores to his name.
His 'Heaven and Hell' was what brought him to my attention.
Who can forget his 'Chariots of Fire' and 'Blade...
Fusion Orchestra
Fronted by Jill Saward who went on to front Brandy for a year, before becoming a session singer, and then on to Citizen Gang before joining Shakatak from 1980 onwards where she has enjoyed 35 years plus of continuous success.
They were very prog-jazz-funk-psych and produced...
MARC COHN - 'Marc Cohn'
I've always thought of this bloke as a sort of sub-standard Springsteen; some excellent songs and great hooks, particularly the famous single, 'Walking in Memphis' and 'Silver Thunderbird'.
Wonderful.
Very pricey on vinyl too!:confused:
Manfred Mann's Earth Band - 'Messin''
Didn't realise when I bought it that this was a re-release (should have noticed from the tag across the top left!!)
Anyway, it's not a gatefold, but the music's still great!
Genesis - 'Rock Theatre' (compilation)
As I've written elsewhere, this is worth having for the 'single' version of 'Watcher of the Skies' that you'll find on it.
