Best Forgotten Bands of the 70's.

I taught in Wollaton for 26 years until retiring in 2013. Posh indeed.

Best Forgotten Bands of the 70's.

What a strange thread this is. Are we saying that these bands are best forgotten? Or that they are the BEST of the forgotten bands of the 1970s? Either way, some strange nominations!

Way back in the 1970s or early 80s I recall a Sunday morning politics programme called Weekend World, hosted by Brian Walden, with a memorable piece of music over the credits. Always loved it and when it became possible to identify such things via the internet I managed to hunt it down. Now I...

Vinyl. Yes, there are a few clicks and ticks but you can't beat the warmth of the recordings.

I'm beginning to find this quite an irritating thread - so many wonderful albums pop up here that I think, "Oh yes! I must fish that one out again and give it a spin", but ther just isn't enough time in the day to do it! Grrr!!! o_O:pullhair:

Robert John Godfrey solo album. Pre-Enid, his first outing. It's a bit of an acquired taste but if you like The Enid then you'll recognise a few themes and style. Probably only one for Enid completists but a nice 40 minutes anyway.

So many 'live' classics on this one, it's impossible to pick a favourite - but I will anyway... 'Mainstreet'

Arrived just before lunch. Turns out it's an unofficial Russian release, but beggars can't be choosers; I thought I'd never get a vinyl copy of this as the kosher ones are stupidly expensive. Already enjoying it again! :)

    Websites that promote rock music.

This is MY WEBSITE and it most definitely promotes rock, although it centres on bands that I have seen and the gigs that I went to/am still going to. I'm looking for comments and subscribers! (Yes, it's a gentle 'plug' ;) ) Gigs'n'Stuff

Recently bought on vinyl... Had to buy it for 'April', which I know is hardly representative of their work, but I've loved it ever since I first heard it way back in the early 70s. (To understand this you have to bear in mind that I am actually a prog man rather than a metal lover)
