    Climax Blues Band - St Michael's Blues...This track taken from their album 'Tightly Knit.'...Their first 4 albums were very good...Pete Haycock was a wonderful guitar player...This track is the kind of blues i like, very heavy heavy slow blues.

    i saw Stan Webbs Chicken Shack in 1989 at the East Anglia Rock and Blues Festival inside Mildenhall Speedway stadium in Suffolk, right next door to the big American Airbases of RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall...Rory Gallagher headlined and Uriah Heep were also on the bill.

    The saddest of blues, love this track taken from Chicken Shack's debut album '40 Blue Fingers.'...Christine McVie had a truly wonderful blues voice..she wrote this track..i put her up there along with Jo Ann Kelly as the best ever British female blues vocalists.

    On Imagination Lady Stan does a cover of 'Going Down' made famous by Freddie King..i liked Chicken Shack when Christine McVie was in the band.. Stan is one of those British blues guitarists that deserved more acclaim, along with the likes of Snowy White and Pete Haycock from Climax Blues...

    yes, the author of that book on Rory you mention was from a guy named Jean-Noel Coghe..i have also read it..There is another book on Rory from an Irish guy named Marcus Connaughton, but the book wasn't that detailed, lots of pics if i remember.

    Rory in Zurich in 1980...Souped Up Ford...he was a great slide player...the energy from Rory and the band is just off the scale here..BRILLIANT...This is how i best remember him, not just a superb bluesman but a real kick ass rock n roller too...Souped Up Ford is another of my fave Rory songs...

    American guitarist Tony Spinner with his tribute track to Rory which is titled 'Checkered Shirt Wizard.'...very good track with a lot of Rory's old songs mentioned in the lyrics....How many of Rory's song titles can you dig out from these lyrics?

    Rory was the ultimate live performer, i have never seen anyone with as much energy has him on stage...I saw Clapton once at the Royal Albert Hall, he was brilliant to listen to, but to watch he was a complete snooze fest, he just stood there...Rory was all over the stage, so much...
