Review Slash - Apocalyptic Love (2012)

I will check him out on YT before doing anything else. As far as i-tunes goes.......I hate the concept, the company, the founder and pretty much everything to do with Apple period.:D

    Max Webster (Official Thread)

First nice to see you again Master Bucky.:D Figures Kim would basically stop by your house and play a free set for you...:gig I'm not sure the last time he toured out west, but when he does he sells out his club dates everytime, Max Webster is still a beloved band up here.

    Alestorm (Official Thread)

^^The cover art is great as usual for anything Alestorm puts out.:D They definitely are a band that picks me up when I listen to their music, there is always room for bands that don't take themselves too seriously in my collection and Alestorm fits right in that niche.:hab:

Review Slash - Apocalyptic Love (2012)

Yes I meant going by the 'green scale' Dr. Love. I am not a big G'n'R fan at all only have Appetite for Destruction and none of the albums the members have released on their own or with their new bands. I don't know much about Izzy Stradlin but you almost make a compelling case to check...

    Best album of the 70s.

Really Zombeels...that is a very unique choice but I like Klaatu, the debut, the album you posted and Magentalane as well very underrated band.

Have you ever become obsessed with an album that changed you socially

Have I ever had a life changing epiphany after listening to a particular album... No I don't think I have, however of all the albums I listened to growing up Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" had the most impact just from a musical point of view it opened the doors to a whole new...

The 10 Best Rolling Stones Songs Post-Some Girls

^^No surprise Start Me Up is at the top of the first list. While I don't think those ten can hold up to their earlier classic tracks it's not a bad batch songs.

Would you go to a concert alone?

Didn't happen often but I found even if I did go to a concert on my own everyone sitting around me made me feel like I was with friends anyway...especially when they were passing a joint down the line. :oyea: Man that was a lifetime ago now.

    Controversial or unpopular opinions

^^Not their greatest album but better than I expected all things considered. Oasis...not a fan although I do like some other Brit-pop bands but it will never be my favorite genre.

    R.I.P. Johnny Winter

This was a surprise considering it happened when he was touring in Europe so if he was really ill I don't think he would have left home. Universally respected as a bluesman of the highest quality, thanks for the gift you gave us Johnny. :rip:

Looking for opinions on U2... positive, negative all welcome!

    Elton John not retiring

:heheh: I don't take any pronouncements from bands/artists that seriously when it comes to retiring, they have fooled us all so many times it's lost it's impact to me anyway. Elton John spends money at a prodigious pace, he has no sense of money management and never has, he simply goes on tour...

    The Beatles Album Poll

It does seem to have that feel of a collection of bits and pieces thrown together especially after Sgt Pepper which was far more coherent by intent, even though John took a jab at Paul years later for Sgt Pepper being 'presumptuous' as a concept album...something like that anyway.:gig

    The Beatles Album Poll

^^You interested in any of the 'mono' vinyl albums they are releasing soon PapaJaques? I might pick up Magical Mystery tour, of all their albums after Rubber Soul it's the worst sounding from a production standpoint and would be curious to do an A/B comparison with the new stereo vinyl album I...

Deep Purple Announce North American Tour

I'm really amazed they are still touring and was very surprised how much I enjoyed "Now What?" when I picked up my vinyl copy last year. Not coming anywhere near where I live looking at the dates booked.

Mike Portnoy blasts new Pink Floyd album

I like Mike Portnoy a lot but he's off base on this one even though he is right the greatest music Pink Floyd ever made was when David, Roger, Rick and Nick were together but I'll take PF's work after Roger left over any of his solo albums easily. I'm not sure what to make of the new PF album...

Will you buy the new Pink Floyd album "The Endless River"?

I'm undecided but considering I liked AMLOR and the Division Bell most likely I will end up getting the new album. But I want to hear a few tracks first.
