My review. See no need to add an other thread....
Classic Album of the Day- Rush- Moving Picture (1981) *****
First a disclaimer. Rush is my favorite band, but you might be surprised, as far as ranking as favorites, I have it at #5 or #6 in their catalog. Which puts me in the extreme...
Classic Rock Album of the Day- Journey- Departure- 1980 *** 1/2
This particular album has so much ambivalence for me, and for a couple of reasons... 1979 - 1980 was a massive line of demarcation for Journey. This exact moment in their history sees a significant shift toward pop-rocking, while...
And another of an artist and an ARTIST. Understand Alice still has the painting that was given to him. Which at last glance is probably worth $2-10M Million.
Big fan of GFR in the day. I'd give it an 8.0/10. I do have to admit I think Terry Knight jelled with Mark, Don, and Mel a little better in some subsequent albums. Not that polish or hook is better, just my $.02. :brew:
Hmmm... think I'll put one on the tee for the next one.... :woot:
8.5/10.... Man I missed the '60's and early '70's where the Hammond was used so masterfully in music. Uriah Heep is terribly under-appreciated in the annals of Rock History. Was a staple of Beaker Street, and rightfully so.
I am an admitted Rush Fan boy, and wanted to add my favorite obscure...
The Boston version is shooting out beams, just looking for victims for anal probes. We all felt that way after being sucked into buying it on reputation (/s) alone.
Gotta be, since this album is the shittiest followup LP in Rock and Roll history.

Classic Rock Album of the Day- The Moody Blues- To Our Children's Children's Children (1969) ****
I had previously reviewed the bookends of what I feel is the Golden era of the Moody Blues, and those two were the most imaginative, with their first being in the forefront of innovation, and the...
@dr wu
I was fascinated on how turbulent this era was within Yes' history. I understand that Howe has a temperamental streak, and was taken pretty aback that his solo album got the worst reviews of what the band put out there circa '75.
When you notice that he didn't have any lead writing...

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Buffalo Springfield- Again (1967). *** 1/2
After panning the Captain Beyond Lp the other day, I wanted to kind of stay with the "Supergroup" concept a tad longer. And back in the late '60's there existed a "click" of folksy rocking mostly American groups and...

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Silvertide- Show and Tell. (2004) *** 1/2
Tonight's installment has a definitely classic rock sound, but the calendar says otherwise. I'd like to share this gem that seems to ask the question, is this particular album the very last AOR album in rock history...

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Captain Beyond- Self Titled- 1972- *
I'll start today's review with a riddle... What do you get when you mix certain elements of Deep Purple, Iron butterfly, and J. Winter's lineup? A pile of hot steaming poo. When I saw in my Circus Magazine that this new...
