Rock 'n' roll singers DON'T get better with age.

I'm thinking Paul Rodgers also still sounds remarkably good; least the last time I heard him... 'bout 2 years ago.

    "Pink Floyd" Pulse

Pulse, along with The Delicate Sound Of Thunder are historical documents of my two favorite concerts that I have ever attended. (both in Toronto, Ontario) I think Pulse is alright... pretty good, actually. There is no comparison to being there in person, but THAT is almost impossible to capture...

    The Moody Blues (Official Thread)

Agreed! :) I pre-ordered both 50th Anniversary Editions at Amazon (CD and LP). I received the CD edition promptly after release, but the vinyl still hasn't shipped yet. Anyone else still waiting for this? I wonder if it's just an Amazon issue or something else.

    First heavy metal song?

"Black Sabbath" by Black Sabbath, the band's first original song released as a single. ...and I hesitated before posting this, thinking of "21st Century Schizoid Man" by King Crimson, but even that wasn't heavy metal. That was just one song that was very, very heavy and jazzy. That and the...

Who is the greatest musician who died before reaching his full potential?

Just yesterday, before posting here I read that RR told Ozzy he wanted to take some time off after the tour to get a formal education (degree) in classical guitar: From Wikipedia: Around this time, Rhoads remarked to Osbourne, bandmates Aldridge and Sarzo, and friend Kelly Garni that he was...

Who is the greatest musician who died before reaching his full potential?

Randy Rhoads. He died soo young... as great as he was on those first two Ozzy albums, one can only imagine just what he would have done after them. Randy Rhoads truly was a shooting star.

    Song From Your First Love

Well.... besides thee one that got away, a boydfiend I had for a few short months in 1989-90 is the one I miss the most, but we were just too into partying, and there is no way we were meant to last. God, we had fun though! This one: "Ain't Even Done With The Night" John Cougar (1980) You got...

    Americana: Please Join In

I can't believe it's been ten years since Eilen Jewell's second album was released. I was lucky enough to see her once, in the city of Buffalo about 6 years ago, at a small but well-known local spot known for such artists as her. Five-or-so albums later she's still going strong. "Rich Man's...

    Lyric Quotes

"I’m tired of Facebook, tired of my failing health... I’m tired of everyone and that includes myself. Well, being alone now it doesn’t bother me; but not knowing if you are, well that’s been hell you see." From the song "Pariah" by Steven Wilson (2017)

    Is Electronica the new Jazz?

Old thread, I know... but there are some electronica artists I like that are re-inventing the old jazz sound with electronics. Parov Stelar is one, Club des Belugas, and Goldfish are others. "Booty Swing" Parov Stelar "Hold Tight" Goldfish Electro-swing is a classification attached to some...
