I loved their first album, but I'm really liking this. The cleans are really unique, and this would be a band I'd recommend if someone struggles a bit with growls as there's just so much more happening. Yeah, pretty epic stuff.
The thing about Dream Theater's Images & Words is that it's not overtly heavy. It's probably their best mix of prog and hard rock. It's like a modern (1992..) take on Rush's Hemispheres.
Dream Theater and Iron Maiden, along with UFO are my 3 favorite bands.
For DT, obviously Images And Words. A Dramatic Turn Of Events is great too. Start on Track 3 though. Awake and Scenes From A Memory too.

Great album, as have been their last 4 or 5. Flotsam is a Top 10 band for me, and are making better than ever music. Erik Knutson still sounds amazing.
