Name a song that reminds you of high school?

Class of '86... I was a metalhead in high school, so obviously there's a whole ton of songs from that genre that remind me, but there's two non metal songs in particular that make me feel like I've boarded the Delorean back to the mid 80's. And don't ask me why, but this song always stops...

    Helloween (Official Thread)

I don't really connect with Sym X, but I'm obviously a huge Iron Maiden/Dream Theater fan. Helloween is definitely melodic. They're not progressive, but they are all excellent players and have some interesting arrangements.

Billy Idol / Joan Jett & The Blackhearts in Mansfield, MA 8/23/2025

Joan Jett's (and her band's) vocals feel a little enhanced. She's been bagged lip synching before, but it's a little hard to tell here.

Well, Ingo has passed away, so are you talking about Roland/Uwe? I liked Roland too, but Sasha was a great replacement.

Wow! Universe (Gravity For Hearts) has that classic Kiske/Helloween vibe. I admit, I didn't love This Is Tokyo either.

Still remember a song in my head 28 years ago

Even as far back as junior high, even the schools were playing School's Out over the speakers on the last day. For the record, that is an amazing album, even though the title track was it's only pick on the original Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits. Just a phenomenal album.

    Blue Murder (Official Thread)

I remember being extremely disappointed with Blue Murder when it came out, both with the songs and John's vocals. I revisited it when he passed away and I thought it actually aged very well.

OZZY OSBOURNE And BLACK SABBATH's Final Show 'Back To The Beginning' To Stream Worldwide

So, I owe Ozzy and Black Sabbath an apology. Watching the clips throughout the day, this looked like a tremendous event. Really well organized and aesthetically beautiful with the Back To The Beginning backdrop. Hats off to Tom Morello and the organizers. Great job!!!

    The Cassette Chronicles

It’s possible I’m misremembering. Perhaps it was available in other countries before the US release. I guess I’m not sure now. Yeah Mike Howe was amazing.

    The Cassette Chronicles

Loved loved loved your writeup on this amazing album. I don't have an answer on why it it wasn't successful. My only guess is that the David Wayne fans were willing to give Blessing In Disguise a chance, but perhaps were not convinced by Mike Howe. Not sure how you couldn't be. I actually came...
