    What was your first concert?

First country concert: Waylon Jennings and Jack Greene at Buck Lake Ranch, Angola, IN, Mid 60s with my friend and his musician Dad. First rock concert: Jimi Hendrix Experience and Chicago at Indianapolis Coliseum 1969. Some friends from high school loaded up the Ford Falcon and made the trip...

The Turtles are way more interesting than I'd anticipated.

The contributed a lot to 60s radio!

Musician & record collector in Florida

Please tell about your collection! I have quite a few, but under 1000. I started buying records in the 60s and still have all my favorites. I have country, rock, blues, western swing, jazz, folk and more, LPs and 45s, even some 78s. In a way I would like to sell them, but in another way, I can't...

Review Jimi Hendrix Experience- Are You Experienced? (1967) **** 1/2

I got this LP when it came out and I was in High School. Our band immediately started playing Fire and Purple Haze. Not well, but we gave it a shot and the kids at the dances liked them. This album completely blew my mind as a young guitar player. I can't find a bad song on it. Of course, my...

38 SPECIAL Marks 50th Anniversary With First Album in 20 Years, 'Milestone'

I saw .38 Special about six years ago at an outdoor show. Their sound was perfect. They must have the cleanest and purest sounding sound system I've ever heard. It was like listening to a CD.

Why do you invest in music?

Music is an addiction for me. I started getting records in the mid 60s. My older sisters already had LPs, so I listened to them a lot. Roy Orbison, The Ventures, Bobby Vinton, Elvis, and even The Music Man soundtrack. I got my first 45, Shotgun by Jr. Walker & The All Stars, then a lot of...

Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs

It seemed weird at the time. In the late 70s I was in a country band. The singer did ALL hardcore country except Wolly Bolly.

    BYRDS (Official Thread)

Mr. Tambourine Man LP was the first album I ever bought. I was in Wisconsin on vacation with my Dad and saw it in a store. Bought it with paper route or yard mowing money and kept it safe on the way home, so it didn't melt in the car. I still have it, but upgraded to CD.

    # If Hendrix was still Alive?

I would hope over the last 50 years he would have gone in the studio with a good producer and made 20 more albums. Plus recorded with and toured with a bunch of singers and groups. I can't imagine the quality of work we would have had to listen to. Hopefully, he would have been off substances...

Rolling Stones. Not that they're bad. They just deserve a break!

please recommend a progressive rock band.

It's interesting that Axis was from Greece. AXAS had their album re-released on a label from Greece. Broken Dreams 45th Anniversary Edition (double CD) on CD and LP. One CD is live and the other is studio. They are on YouTube.

Joey Molland, Badfinger Guitarist, Dead at 77

Just saw him with the Happy Together Tour last year. He did a great job on guitar and singing the Badfinger hits. Sad.
