Picking Sides: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

As much I love all sides of this album I think I like the last one the best overall. "Social Disease" is a really fun, underrated track, "Roy Rogers" is quite lovely, and I'll always have a soft spot for "Harmony". It's just the freshest and most enjoyable to me. :)

    Picking Sides: Led Zeppelin II

It's a tough choice since "Bring It On Home" and "Ramble On" are probably my favorite tracks on the album but as a whole I like the first side better. As classic as I know they are I'm not the biggest fan of "Heartbreaker" and "Living Loving Maid" so that brings the second side down for me.

Do music videos play a role in new album enjoyment?

I really appreciate good music videos though the art seems to be largely lost these days. Most videos take the song entirely too literally or are just eye lots of lights and flare. Actually crafting a nice visual accompaniment to the songs doesn't happy nearly frequently enough these days.

    Picking Sides: Led Zeppelin II

Picking Sides is where we pit the vinyl sides of albums (of varying iconicness) against one another and discuss why we like one side over the other and what we think is positive and negative about them. Side One 1. Whole Lotta Love 2. What Is And What Should Never Be 3...

I really enjoyed that collaboration. I thought it was sweet and cool. :)

    Classic Southern Rock

Guess I'm the only one who went with Molly Hatchet. Skynyrd is obviously the champions of southern rock but I think Molly Hatchet is the more gnarly of their peers.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is back!

I really enjoyed Noel's first album with the High Flying Birds. It was exactly what I'd expected from his pretty limited songwriting ability but I like that sound so it was pretty nice to my ear. Good to hear that another is on the way. :)

    AC/DC - Highway To Hell (1979)

I went with "Tough Too Much" based on my mood today but I could have also gone with "If You Want Blood" and "Night Prowler".

BLACK SABBATH To Begin Work On New Studio Album Next Year

That's pretty much how I feel about everything. I wasn't super impressed with "13" and it really wasn't worth the wait. It's nice to have one more album from Sabbath but I almost would have preferred having the "What if the got back together feeling" for whatever magic they could have produced...

    Flatlining...

"Fade to Black" is a great song but I think "Coma" doesn't get the credit it should as one of Guns' best songs so I'm going to give them my vote.

    Well Covered

One of my favorite channels on Youtube does lots of cool anachronistic covers pop songs in old soul, jazz, swing, and doo-*** covers. I think this one is a really cool one. :) 8WEtxJ4-sh4 uMvQbf5qSmI

Best Title Cut of the 1970's

I went with Elton but I could have easily when with "Bat out of Hell", "Black Sabbath", or "Billion Dollar Babies".

    Queen confirm "Queen Forever" album

Kind of a weird tracklist. I thought they'd be more new material as well so I'm not so sure this would be enough to entice me honestly.

Panic! At The Disco Covers Bohemian Rhapsody Opinion Poll

It's better than their awful cover of "I Believe In a thing Called Love" but it's only adequate for my tastes. This is generally I song I don't like to see get covered and I've seen better ones.

    Slash (Official Thread)

I honestly didn't even know Slash had a new album out. I was very underwhelmed by the last album he did with Myles Kennedy so he sort of fell off my radar quite honestly. I'll give it a listen somewhere when I get the time and be back with what I think of it.

    Guns N' Roses (Official Thread)

I find myself not usually listening to "Chinese Democracy" much as a whole album but with tracks like "Catcher in the Rhye", "Street of Dreams", "Madagascar", "This I Love", and "There Was a Time" all being great songs and "Better", If The World", "I.R.S.", and "**********" being overall good...

    Damien Rice (Official Thread)

Maybe. I kind of felt like he was trying to add that lighter, indie flavor to his music since that's where acoustic guitar has mostly taken up residence since he put out his last album.
