    Status Quo

I relistened to that song.....decent track but not a 'classic' imho....how did the lp change your take on all genres of music...? the lp reminded me of some songs by the old Brit band The Move who also started in the mid to late 60s like Status Quo.

    Status Quo

We got the cover but no review........ ;) I liked their first 2 lps when they were doing psych rock pop...they embodied that sound well... the later lps became standard harder edged boogie blues rock, though they did it fairly well for the times to me it didnt stand out from many other bands...

What Are You Listening to Now? Pics/Videos

The English lyric translation on you tube is right out of HPLovecraft....makes me want to read my old Lovecraft paperbacks. *Edited to say that I actually enjoy what they are doing,,,, which is unusual for me not being a metal fan. They have a different /melodic edge to their songs...

Yes...and they are charging 'pay for view'....$29.99.....when most of us are already paying for several stream channels . Why not just put it on one of those...Netflix, Prime, Peacock, Hulu, etc...and get their $ from them?

Misadventures In Music - Thoughts Unfiltered

That's why I have been calling it the Rock n Roll 'Hall of Shame' for some years now. :grr: There are quite a few 'rap and hip hop' artists in the hall but most in the music business do not consider those areas rock n roll.....yet as you mentioned many popular rock acts still are not in the...

    Bands That Should Retire

    Review UFO- Obsession (1978) ***

I have the first 2 lps...when they were heavy psych rock with Bolton on guitar....they are somewhat collectable these days...when they became hard rock/ metal I gave up on them....though I understand why they appeal to hard rock fans.

Opinion on this Doobie Brothers song?

Never been a big fan of The Doobie Bros in general but I do like several of their hits.....China Grove, Black Water, Listen To The Music, Takin It To the Streets, It Keeps You Runnin etc...they were solid radio songs. The Holland- Dozier song was originally done by Kim Weston (64) as well as...

Why is liking Jim Morrison more than Freddie Mercury wrong?

I tend to gravitate to 'raspy' voiced singers also....both male and female. People like Robert Plant ,Paul Rodgers, Steve Marriott, Bob Seeger, Janis Joplin, ....etc ..but I like all kinds of vocalists.
