    Best gig i have ever been to was Rory Gallagher at Liverpool University 1981..He was awesome...he was doing a tour of the UK playing all the universities in all the major British cities..it was dubbed his 'University Challenge Tour.'..There was nobody like Rory, he was special.

    On the night of the 1981 Renegade tour in Liverpool the support act were a Northern Irish band 'Sweet Savage' with a very youthful Vivian Campbell on guitar..Sweet Savage had emerged out of that NWOBHM ( New Wave of British Heavy Metal. )

    yes, the Reading show is fantastic,,shame that it was never filmed, as far as i know it wasn't,,but a CD was released....Also on that farewell tour in 1983 Lizzy did 4 nights on the bounce at London's Hammersmith Odeon and one of those 4 nights was when all the former Lizzy guitarists performed...

    Saddened to hear this news..I saw him twice with Thin Lizzy on their farewell Thunder and Lighting tour in 1983 in UK in Liverpool and later that year when Lizzy headlined the Reading Rock Festival which was Lizzy's last ever UK performance before they called it a day...John and Phil Lynott...

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ced8jpdevjeo Yesterday saw the unveiling of a Rory Gallagher statue outside the Ulster Hall in Belfast..it's ok but not a brilliant resemblance..The statue of Rory in his birthplace of Ballyshannon is better and more fitting of him.

    i am a big fan of Bob, never got to see him live though as he didn't tour/travel much outside of North America, i don't really know the reason for that, maybe a fear of flying or he liked his comfort zones, something like that..Loved his earlier albums the most and the pick of the bunch for me...
