ELP : Emerson, Lake, & Palmer (Official Thread)

Just listened to Tarkus in full for the first time. Quite the experience. The Stephen Wilson version, to top it off.

I can die happy. My favorite song, from my favorite album has finally been played. Only took 26 years, lol. Just came in here to post Madman. James' voice is crazy good on that one.

Ronnie Rising medley: c504EgPEvns James sounds amazing, it's the best production they've had in 16 years, you can hear Rob, this is just killer.

It's in E. I could die a happy man right now. Plus, James' vocal layering is back. He didn't do any on DM, which is part of why his voice sounded a bit thin.

I agree, it's a bit overlong. Though, by the same token, it doesn't suffer the issue that DM had where everything sounded shoved together, & didn't fit. It sounds like a song, so that helps it to not seem too too bloated for me. Doesn't grate my nerves like some, such as Broken Beat & Scarred...

New song "The Lords of Summer". I like a lot. It's more concise, less disjointed than a lot of the DM songs. f7rh_eL9Jlc

These last few pages...:wa It already made it onto one of the early shows. Disagree wholeheartedly. It's not quite on the level of some of the epics on Justice, but I think it's a damn good song, personally. Also, to reference something you said later, I've seen Escape referenced by them as...

Was tied for my favorite record of last year, along with Darkthrone's newest.

Love this band, one of my favorites along with Jess ATAO & Purson. They just keep getting better, as well.

Yeah pretty much all the kicks were added or enhanced in post, it's never even close to as precise & loud as it sounds on those dvds.

Another of the kinda sad things I've noticed is both the Nimes & Mexico City 2009 dvds are auto-tuned, though not to a painfully obvious extent. It's quite apparent when you A/B the LiveMetallica recording & the DVD audio.

I have the Live Metallica show as well, & on that small part at least is clearly different, that's why it stuck out to me like a sore thumb. As for Clover, this speaks for itself: Absolutely no crowd or symphony bleed into his mic. That wouldn't be possible if it were live. And there is...

Black Sabbath - Born Again (rate this album)

    8. I'm of the opinion that the only non-great albums this band ever put out are the last 2.

    Metallica (Official Thread)

Parts of the concert were touched up in the studio, yeah. For instance, one part that stuck out to me is the "Needle work the way" portion of Master of Puppets. James' vocals are completely redone in that short part for some reason. It's nothing new, though. Hell, No Leaf Clover from ***'s...

    Judas Priest (Official Thread)

I was about to say. The writing on Jugulator was all Glen & KK, & Glen wrote all the lyrics. I think it was a conscious decision by the band to get heavier. Hell, it might've happened had Halford stayed, his Fight record wasn't all that different.

On most, I agree, but I actually feel he did the best version of Afraid to Shoot Strangers.

Always vying with Solitude Aeturnus for tutle of my favorite Doom band. I recently discovered this: 1RihZnl26OY Which took me completely by surprise, as I'm a massive Tony Martin-era Sabbath fan & had no clue in hell this even happened.
