    Heart - Heart (1985)

My three favorites on this album are If Looks Could Kill, The Wolf, and Shell Shock. Never is good too, but not a fan of other hits from this album.

Jefferson Starship - It's About Time (Official Video)

Not bad, but I have a hard time calling that Jefferson Starship.

Battle of the Isolated Classic Studio Vocal Tracks: "Alone" vs. "Barracuda" by Ann Wilson

I think they're both good but Barracuda is more impressive. Alone has more effects, including her voice being triple layered at the end when she wails the last "alone" lyric. As a bonus here is Roger Fisher's isolated guitar for Barracuda.

Battle of the Isolated Classic Studio Vocal Tracks: "Alone" vs. "Barracuda" by Ann Wilson

I just recently discovered that there are isolated vocal tracks from many artists on YouTube. For those who don't know what the term refers to, it's just the raw vocal track without any of the instrumentation so you can hear every syllable and every breath the singer utters. Some of these...

    Heart Vs. The Runaway's

Except the album is not called “Barracuda”, it’s actually called “Little Queen”. It looks like you’ve fixed it now.

    Heart Vs. The Runaway's

A Heart song against an entire Runaways album?

    Heart - Dog & Butterfly (1978)

This is a really old, well-written review but what motivated me to post is just how good that video of Cook with Fire is. For people who never "got" Heart in the 80s when they were singing hair metal and power ballads, that Cook with Fire video shows exactly what was great about this band...

Battle of the (Fleetwood Mac) Ballads

I like Songbird. Can’t stand Nicks’s nasally voice.

    Songs You Can't Stand

All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You - Heart When I hear that song and compare it to rock classics like Crazy on You, Magic Man, and Barracuda I just shake my head. Hell, it even makes their worst 80s stuff sound great by comparison.

    Songs You Can't Stand

Styx has so much more well known music to hate that I'm surprised you dug so far down to find this one.

    Guilty pleasures?

Some would call this just plain bad, but I have to admit I liked it as a kid when it was first released. The badly dated video doesn't help it's cause.

    Guilty pleasures?

I definitely don't consider these guilty pleasures. I think of things like KC and the Sunshine Band, The Carpenters, Bonnie Tyler, Meatloaf (anything after Bat out of Hell), Cher, etc as guilty pleasures.

Rate The Song Above You Part III

WASP - Running Wild: This is one of my favorite tunes by them. It's clearly 80s, but doesn't sound too badly beaten by the Bon Jovi stick. 8.5/10 Below: Rate the song, not the "vintage" early 80s cheez covered video.

Heart to Issue First Concert Film With an Orchestra, ‘Live at Royal Albert Hall’

This is a good album and the band sounds good, but in Alone Ann's vocals had to be overdubbed which is disappointing (there are Youtube videos comparing the DVD version of Alone to the actual performance that someone recorded on their cell phone. Ann didn't sound good on the actual but sounds...

It defintely appears Heart is done for at this point. Apparently the sisters haven't spoken to each other since the end of last year's tour. RIP Heart.

ANN WILSON of Heart Announces 2017 Solo Dates

There are rumors that Heart has or is disbanding because of the dust up in August between Ann's husband and Nancy's sons. There were also rumors posted on Heart's official message board that lawyers were involved on both sides to determine who, how, when the Heart name could be used by either...

Bands or musicians who strayed far from their roots

That's a bit of an overreaction. Yes, they sold out and they are the first to admit it. But they weren't bubble gum unless the only thing you listened to were a few of the hit singles. All three of those huge selling late 80s/early 90 albums had some good material on them, but only power...
