Last week was also the 45th anniversary of the release of Dressed to Kill (March 18th, 1975), their third studio album in just under 13 months.

For me, this was the album that turned me into a KISS fan for life. All of these years later, I'd still have to rank it in my top 5 favorite KISS albums.

Of course, their rock standard / anthem is on this album: Rock and Roll All Nite

On this day, June 30 1977, Kiss released their 6th studio album in just over 3 years. This album marked the first time that Ace Frehley took the lead vocals on any KISS song, Shock Me. The song was written after Ace had been electrocuted on stage during a show (I think in Florida) where the railing on the risers had not been grounded properly.

Little known fact, KISS was one of the very first, if not THE first band to start using wireless gear, which was due to the above incident. If anyone wants to say that KISS wasn't instrumental in the music industry, they don't know how just how much they were. ;)

Happy Birthday to Love Gun

Gary Thain got electrocuted on stage and had to be replaced. Ace Frehley gets electrocuted on stage and writes a freakin' song about it.

This will be the last concert, until the next one. This band has been retiring for years, since 2018 if I recall correctly. Just like the Eagles!

I would not call myself anything other than a casual Kiss fan. Their image was worth a great deal in the 70’s. A kid up the street from me had the famous Kiss Spirit of 1776 poster on his wall and I thought it was one of the coolest things I ever saw. Musically I always thought they were average or a little below. But you’d see a picture of Gene with blood coming out of his mouth or spitting fire ten feet into the air and they were ******* legends!
Lick It Up and Animalize were the first Kiss albums I bought. Mark St. John’s guitar work on “Thrills In The Night” is really outstanding.
At the end of the nineties or possibly early 2000’s, I had Internet and somewhat expendable income. I found and bought several music collections on eBay and one of them was a Kiss collection. 27 of their albums collected perhaps without proper authorization on 15 cds. The sound quantity is great and it’s a nice little addition to my library.
Animalize and Gene Simmons on vinyl.

I also have the Kiss: Box Set in digital files on a hard drive.

Totally agree with your assessment of their abilities. Gene Simmonds describes himself best on his own record cover (A$$hole)
