So this week I got around to some unfinished business.
I decided to have the Zakk Wylde EMG set + this Shadow124 killpot I had
in this cheap Columbus Guitar that broke in 2012 put into my 1999/2000 American Fender Deluxe Ash Body Maple Neck guitar.
Booked it in Tuesday, got it back Friday.
I got this Fender, my Fender (only Fender I have); also, my first Fender; When I bought this guitar, the salesman welcomed me into the Fender ownership club and called me a Fender guy to which I corrected him and said 'I'm actually a Gibson guy who has a Fender'. This was in 2016.
In fact, that video above of my Fender was recorded the night I bought it.
I toyed around with the notion of having it put to HH with a new scratch plate, found out after the the fact (after I bought this guitar) that it was also routed for humbuckers and nothing had to be cut out to accommodate the pickups.
My parts guitar became a parts guitar waiting for a high end guitar to come along to justify these electronics (kill pot and all which made me no want to put them into a high end Gibson Les Paul)...
I decided to finally use the pickups that haven't been used since 2012. I honestly believe I only used the pickups once in 2012, in that recording of them in that cheap Columbus guitar recorded the day I bought home that guitar from my guitar guy; I only used it once, for that recording, had my first Gibson Les Paul at the time so I really played on that, then few months later it fell on a hard floor and the head stock broke and because of the high end electronics, became my parts guitar.
Until this week.
