Everything in the top 40, I didn't get into music from the 50's, 60's and 70's til much later.

But there was alot of good stuff in the charts back then, it was so diverse, compared to the top 40 of today.

This is the decade when I've started my real magic journey into the ocean of music.
What a rich time! Hundreds of classics were released in those years. This was the peak of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock and these terms were sacred for us.

To begin with, Deep Purple and their family - Whitesnake and Rainbow were huge. These were gods for us.

Then Judas Priest and Accept blew our minds respectively with their albums Defenders of the Faith and Balls to the Wall. Followed by Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Twisted Sister...

The three double live albums: "Priest... Live!" by JP, "Live After Death" by IM and "World Wide Live" by Scorps were at the head of this wave. Everybody has played them on those cassette players over and over again.

Of course, during the decade, around the above group of names, AC/DC and Pink Floyd were also always there.

I also remember how in 1984, one of my suppliers said "...hey, here is some new young band playing a new style - Speed Metal..." and we've heard Motorbreath from Kill 'Em All, so Metallica joined the feast.

In the mid 80's, the same supplier introduced to me a cassette with the live album "Real to Reel" by Marillion and I've immediately felt in love with this band. I've played this cassette thousands of times.

Many more bands supported those years too. Among them Saxon, Manowar, Ozzy, Motörhead...
