Has anyone fathomed lB guitar style
We saw him at Sheffield arena with fm a few years ago and we were about 10 rows back
His custom guitar is so lightly strung. It's loose. He plays plugged in not wireless.
Im watching his la forum gig with fm in 82 and he keeps switching, hendrix style, between playing the lead on the neck and the then the body
He's also got a picking style similar to bo diddly.
Im not a musician.
I cannot for the life of me work out how he gets the sound he does from his guitar with stings so loose they Almost fall off
He's a stunning guitar player
Can anyone here unravel his style.
When he cranks out the heavy stuff he's simply amazing. And he gets very heavy.
Fm at Sheffield had mountains of amps and monitors that made the arena shake.
He's one of those few guitarists good enough to improvise. There are many of those around. His playing on I'm so afraid is right up there with the very best.
That night at Sheffield the audience were awful. It's Sheffield so that's how they are.
Fm didn't take the money an run they worked them. Gave some marvellous extended workouts and finally got them
Sheer class

Not to criticize Lindsey Buckingham, but I don't think he is/was the most prolific guitarist that there ever was. Imo he is ok, but just ok. I think Neil Schon and Gary Ritchrath are two other guitarists that most fans feel are "capable", but neither are extraordinary (though to be fair to Schon, he does have his moments).

Back to Buckingham, the song that best exemplifies his guitar work imo is "I'm So Afraid". It's very haunting and chilling over the rhythm section of both Fleetwood and "Mac".
