I liked Johnny Winter & Rick Derringer playing together back in the early 1970s although it's a shame the way Johnny ended up playing guitar sitting down in a chair in the latter years of his life. I still have a load of Johnny's and Rick's cds from the 1970s in my collection.

Samson's Head On was maybe the best of a bunch of albums that they released in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

At least Johnny kept playing and entertaining his fans, even though he was sitting. I would have loved to have seen him before he passed....
I saw Johnny Winter playing live back in 1988 & 1990 in London England and he was good although I especially liked his slide guitar playing on Dylan's Highway 61 Re-visited and from memory Johnny changed guitars and strapped on his Gibson Firebird for that number plus I also saw Rick Derringer play the same venue 1991 as part of The Night of Guitars tour along with a bunch of other 'named' guitarists.
