Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band will turn the page one last time beginning this fall. The singer announced that his upcoming Travelin' Man tour will be the final chapter in his career as a touring musician.

He revealed the news in a press release that added more dates to the shows that had been rescheduled from last year, when back surgery forced him to cancel the Runaway Train tour before it had even started. It had been suspected, but never confirmed, that Seger was already planning to call it quits, because that tour had been announced in a video that contained the phrase "one last time."

Seger will begin his farewell tour at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Nov. 21 and end on May 2 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston. Other dates will be announced in the future, including shows in Las Vegas, Fresno, San Diego, Vancouver and Florida.

You can see the announced dates below.

With the exception of the Dallas and Houston concerts, tickets for the rescheduled dates are currently available. The Texas shows and most of the others will go on sale Sept. 28, while Toledo and Nashville will be available beginning Sept. 29. Members of his Bullet Club will have access to a Sept. 25 pre-sale. For full details, visit Seger's website.

I am going to see Seger tomorrow. It will be my fifth Seger show((first was in 1984).Grand Funk Railroad is opening (but Mark Farner isn’t in the band anymore)
Grand Funk Railroad with no Mark Farner??. That isn't Grand Funk Railroad dudes.

The only Bob Seger song that I've ever heard of is Rosalie and that was when Thin Lizzy covered it back in 1975 on there Fighting album plus it was featured on there Live And Dangerous album in 1978.

So how do you know Mark Farner, but don’t know Bob Seger?
And yes it sucks that Farner isn’t in the band but Brewer and Schacher are So two of the three originals are there.

I have heard of both Grand Funk Railroad (in fact I've got a number of there early/mid 1970s albums on cds) and of Bob Seger loads of time but I have never bothered listening to any of Bob Seger's stuff on his albums or cds except that I've heard Thin Lizzy's cover of Rosalie.

Saw Seger in Grand Rapids on his last tour which was supposed to be his last one. We’re getting tickets for his opening show on this tour. Hopefully on his next farewell tour we will see him again.
