I was totally immersed in the Fish era in the early Eighties. These days I rarely, if ever, pick up one of those albums to play.

That said, it was awesome to hear "Slainte Mhath", "Heart of Lothian", "Market Square Heroes" and "Garden Party" given a run out at the London Palladium last November. We often get MSH if they play Aylesbury or GP if they play Cambridge but it's almost unprecedented to hear four Fish-era songs in one set in the UK.

Marillion!
It is so hard to talk about this band. This is a crush that happened to me when I was in the high school. I think, it was 1985 when my music supplier recorded for me a cassette tape with their live album "Real to Reel" (1984) and he warned me that this group uses a lot of keyboards (then we were deep in the heavy metal guitars).
It was a miracle. I've listened to the song "Forgotten Sons" and I've started crying from the very first time, extraordinary excited. Then, I've immediately understood that I've met my other half in the world. In that moment Fish and Co. became Godfathers for me. The names of these musicians are sacred for me till nowadays.

Interestingly enough, because of the complicated distribution in my area, the next thing was the album "Clutching at Straws" (1987). Wow, I couldn't believe how something can be so beautiful and powerful at the same time. I couldn't stop listening to it. "...we are just sugar mice in the rain." Amazing!

It was not before the early 90's, when I obtained cassettes with their most acclaimed work "Misplaced Childhood", the debut album "Script for a Jester's Tear" and their final Fish era live album "The Thieving Magpie". In those years of the 90's, I've also accidentally came across a VHS with the magical gig "Live from Loreley" - absolute cult.

I've seen them live twice during the Hogarth era (2009 and 2017) and I've seen Fish solo four times (2004, 2005, 2012 and 2018).
