Frands I wouldn't call myself a dedicated Diamond Head fan although I own the first album Lightning To The Nations which came out in 1981 I think and they got lumped in with the NWOBHM movement here in the UK anyway I believe the first album is the main album because after that I believe they moved away slightly towards progressive metal I suppose you would call it?. The thing with Diamond Head apart from Lars Ulrich of Metallica being a early fan of there's was they didn't get the lucky breaks that other bands got and I recall reading that the band for some time was managed by one of the bands mother's rather that being managed by a 'proper' manager which probably meant that they lost a lot of ground early on to other NWOBHM bands and never really recovered.

Absolutely correct, not to mention these rockers were young and shy. They were scared to perform early on, so that also contributes to a lack of commercial success.

Another manager was a cardboard factory owner who had 0 experience managing bands..

From memory Diamond Head were from the English Midlands from Stourbridge I believe the same part of the world that bands like Black Sabbath, Move/ELO, Blackfoot Sue & Slade came from as well as a few other British bands and also from memory I believe that SOUNDS the British weekly music paper during the 1970s & 1980s that championed all things heavy rock/heavy metal/NWOBHM was haling the band as the new Led Zeppelin back in 1980/81.
