Basically, I run an instagram page for 70's rock, and I also am a firefighter. Would like to have something like first responder friday, where I highlight one of these bands. Any out there that you guys know of? Not all have to be them, and it doesn't matter if it was before, after, or during.

Eddie Money came from a family of police officers. He became a NYC police officer himself for 2 years but quit in 1968 and moved to California to pursue his music career. He had numerous hit songs during the 70s and 80s

I remember hearing that David Lee Roth worked as an EMT for a short period of time in the 90's.

I've read on various websites that Rod Evans became a paramedic after leaving Captain Beyond. If you don't know about Captain Beyond, there are many youtube videos that feature the music of their albums. Check them out. In my opinion, their first album is the best, the second has some great tunes as well. I'm not very familiar with the third album "Dawn Explosion" with Willie Daffern doing vocals instead of Rod Evans.

Captain Beyond was a great but these days a fairly obscure 4-piece rock band from the early/mid 1970s with the band featuring Rod Evans vocals (ex Deep Purple Mk.1 1968-69) Bobby Caldwell drums (ex Johnny Winter) 'Rhino' Reinhardt electric guitar & Lee Dorman bass guitar (both ex Iron Butterfly). The first album with the aforementioned line up is probably the best of the three albums that the band released although the second album is ok but from memory it sounds quite different from the first album (from memory a bit like Santana?) and also features some changes in the band's line up. The first and second albums were released on Capricorn Records the same label as the earlier Allman Brothers records were.
