That BUDDY GUY album was released in amongst a x3 cd box set and sold in the HMV London store for around £10 about 7 or 8 years ago I nearly bought the thing. From memory the x3 albums including HOLD THAT PLANE! dated circa 1968-72 (I think?).

I really do enjoy his music. I only have his albums 'The Blues Is Alive And Well' and 'Stone Crazy'. Now that you mentioned HMV London Store: Am I right that the BBC News whispered to me ears some days ago, that the HMV store in London is about to be closed down?o_O. I hope it is not true!
How much do you pay for a brand new album in England these days?

Yeah the HMV Bond street (near to Oxford Circus) in central London finally closed on Tuesday 5th February. I happened to be on my way to the shop when a couple of it's staff approached me several yards from the main entrance and told me they had just been sacked!!. At one time during the mid/late 1990s we had the Virgin Mega store at the Tottenham Court road end of Oxford street plus we also had two HMV stores one on Oxford street and one at Bond street also we had Tower Records at Piccadilly Circus which later became another Virgin store for several years during the early 2000s plus we've still got a few independent record shops around Soho & Berwick street in the west end and in particular Sister Ray record shop on Berwick street and Fopp record shop at Cambridge Circus near Shaftsbury Avenue in the west end which is still apart of HMV. I personally still buy cds in Fopp record shop and Sister Ray record shop and occasionally from Amazon.

I'm sad to hear that! I have only been in the HMV shop once in the early 90s and only for 15 mins, but it was amazing. Anyway, It's great that you still have some good shops there!:)

Well I've actually been visiting the major west end of London record stores such as HMV, Virgin & Tower Records regular for very many years which means two or three times most weeks (except when I am working some weeks) since the early 1980s so I have witnessed at first hand the 'great days' of the major record stores selling vinyl and then cds during the 1980s & 1990s and then there slow and gradual decline and closures from the early 2000s onwards and to be honest it has become away of life to me to visit record shops most weeks which I have seen gradually shrink over the last 10-15 years to currently a few independent record shops in Soho in the west end and Fopp records which is apart of the HMV empire.

Still the few shops that are left are better than none at all...

Yes indeed! I really do miss the good ol' record shops here where I live on the other side of the pond! Think I have to go to the harbour and find the boat to England:phones::hab:
