I am looking for a vocalist who can write good lyrics to work with me on an album project.

So far I have 6 short songs completed instrumentally and ready for the addition of vocals.

Current run time is 31 minutes.

There are another 2 songs in the pipeline currently being worked on, one of which will be the longest on the album at slightly over 9 minutes.

I am aiming for perhaps 10 songs to complete the project and hope to have a total run time for the album of around 60 minutes.

My current batch of songs are quite heavy and contain some elements of prog.

There are also some ambient moments but the emphasis for this album will be on the heavy side.

Full consideration has been given to melody and the fullest attention given to detail.

You may be male or female and can be based anywhere in the world.

My only stipulation is that you can write and sing in good English and have a checkable track record of previous work that I can access to determine your suitability for the project.

There is currently no money being offered for the project, but if the album goes multi platinum you will receive royalties according to your contribution.. :)

If you think you might be interested please send me a message in the first instance with a link to some of your previous work.

You're kidding, right? This is a joke post, isn't it? You don't really think anyone with a "checkable track record of previous work" will accept a no=pay, free project working for someone who doesn't even have "checkable" examples of the instrumental tracks already completed, do you?

The last part ruins it all, like a formal CV is required. I think I understand where Dougie is coming from but he should of phrased his requirements in a more attractive and interesting style rather than like an old pendantic crusted teacher...

Based on people I've worked with on creative projects in the past, in either music or theater, anyone who would write a post like that looking for a collaborator is not someone anyone would want to work with.

OK Mr Old Dude, you got my back up so I'm going to respond once and only once.

The project I advertised for is a professional project which will be ongoing so I'm not paying any studio fees. The reason I phrased the ad in the way I did is because in the past I have received many replies to similar ads from completely unsuitable people - most of whom haven't had any experience and in general terms just haven't got a clue.

I have in fact got a checkable track record - 8 albums worth of checkability in fact - yes, my user name is a pseudonym - but I'm not about to go posting it on here for all and sundry and then get a bunch of replies from karaoke specialists and Beyonce wannabes. If I wanted that kind of thing I would have written a post on Soundcloud.

I also stated quite clearly in the original post that if a contribution to the music is made then royalties will be paid so I don't see what the problem is here other than the fact that you sound like you're just out looking for a fight. But I suppose that's classic social media for you isn't it : full of idiots and sad little keyboard warriors with big opinions and bigger mouths who think they know best and can't resist an opportunity to kick off.

As it happens I now have someone to work with on my latest project - from a similar ad placed elsewhere, but nonetheless I'm not about to apologise for something I wrote in good faith and in an entirely inoffensive manner which was based on past experience just because some pathetic clown takes offence to it for no good reason and then takes a swipe at me.

If you think a professional or formal approach is the wrong way to go about finding the right people for the right job and for some reason find the way I worded my request offensive then it's your problem buddy, and yours alone.

All I can suggest is that you suck it up and get a life.
