This band grew in the late sixties, very much keyboard sounds and synths. Found them to be interesting and strange at the same time, got their CD from amazon and it has both their albums on for less than 4 pounds. These were so ahead of their time, enjoy!!!

Re: Silver Apples

Another band with a really cool name!

Their music is strange and trippy, but cool at the same time. Not anything I would listen to often, but something that should be experienced at least once. I was intrigued more than anything else, so I looked them up.

What is awesome about this duo, Simeon devised his own sythesizer, which he named after himself.

Apparently what led to this bands demise along with the record label, was a lawsuit by Pan Am airlines over the back cover of their second album, which depicted a plane crash and the front cover which is a cockpit with drug paraphenalia.

Re: Silver Apples

I'm pretty impressed with these guys so far! I have yet to really delve into their collection but they are great. Being a bit of an electronic kid I am always interested in original stuff that influenced the electronic genre. These guys were so ahead of their own time they had to make their own equipment! Amazing...anyway, props!:grinthumb

SILVER APPLES got mentioned in a HAWKWIND documentary...so I thought I would check them out. Then I remembered your thread Sweaty.
Well I like to hear the odd strange avant/garde sounds.....and this band are strange to say the least.
They sound very KRAUTROCK ....like Neu!, early Kraftwerk,Can etc....except they were from the US !!
I wouldn't be surprised if my son has some SILVER APPLES in his collection, as this is more his scene.
Hard to believe this is from 1968/9......very trippy/Electronic stuff
