You know, I think, that most of their underrated works is "The Battle Rages On" and "Slaves and Masters" (btw, hate, when someone calls it Deep Rainbow!). But in my opinion both of them are great!
:cc:
Battle is awesome and one of my top 5 DP albums but Bananas for me is highly underrated as most of these era albums rarely even get talked about.

I like 'In Rock' the best but it is a difficult decision... 'Machine Head' is also cool...

Thanks for linking that!
And yeah....you did let him off too easy.:D
And no mention of my current fav,,,Fireball.:(
Thanks again!

I know!! I listened to Fireball a lot before hand and was digging it right up there with In Rock, but sometimes after shooting you remember things that you wanted to bring up but forgot, the same thing happened when we shot our Megadeth episode, I was arguing for Rust in Peace so much that I hardly mentioned Countdown, Killing or So Far So Good at all. I regretted it, but I definitely didn't let my opponent off the hook in the Megadeth one.

In Rock, hands down. It's better than Machine Head.
It's one of the best rock albums ever, in my book. Hard rock perfection.

So cliché to pick Machine Head but Lazy is my favorite DP song. Burn, Perfect Strangers and Perpendicular are among my favorites as well. Seen them 8 times. The Perfect Strangers tour was my second concert. (My first was Black Sabbath w/ Ian Gillan).

I am familiar with all Deep Purple albums with the RB line up but with SM I only have two albums. Maybe its because I have not heard all the albums involving SM. The album infinite has four good songs on it and one song 'The Surprising' is half good, The Singing part is excellent but the instrumental part lets the song down which is such a frustration. I felt there was a lot of 'rock' rhetoric going on in most of the songs on that album and if the song itself does not have any redeeming melody, riff or anything then all that heavy rock rhetoric falls on its face.

As to favourite Deep Purple album, I don't have specific one because there are quite a few albums with very good songs on it. I think the album which which reflects the essence and mojo of Deep Purple is most defnitely Made in Japan.
