Def Leppard. There's hardly a week that goes by that I don't listen to at least something from this album, if not the entire thing.
Fair Warning vs High'n'Dry?

Fair Warning . I do like the first two DL albums quite a bit but it Van Halen for me.

Whilst I like a fair bit of Van Halen, I prefer the harder edge of stuff like High n Dry, but I lost interest in Def Leppard after this album too. But it has a couple of old time favourites: Switch 625, No, No, No, and Mirror, Mirror. So I'd take High n Dry over Fair Warning.

Yeah I pretty much agree with you ************ I like Def Leppard's first and second albums but lost interest after those two albums for some reason?.
As for Van Halen's Fair Warning I really like the number Unchained and for me it's the best song on the album.
Between both albums I would probably go for High 'n' Dry but only just!!.

I seem to remember that I thought their sound went a lot softer after High n Dry (which doubly p****d me off, cos I thought High n Dry saw them just really getting into their stride), so I never bought anything of theirs after that, nor have I tried anything else by them since. For all I know, they might have got back on track at some point, but it seemed to me that they were headed in a much more commercial direction, probably because they wanted to 'crack' the U.S.? Which I took as meaning they'd sold out on true metal fans.

Pete Willis departed after the High 'n' Dry album as well cos I believe he started drinking and became unreliable so they brought in Phil Collen ex-Girl as his replacement.
Also they went a bit 'pretty boy' looking as well and British rock/metal fan's never liked that kinda s**t!!.
