This is where you have to be smart and search for other songs from the album. Listen to a good handful of songs, and if you like what you hear in all of them then get the album. At least that's the way that I do it.

Although I gotta admit I have been a victim of impulse buying before :heheh:

hm sort of hard to explain my feelings. I compare modern music to most things these days. Take doctors and lawyers today they are all specialized compared to the 70's where you really just had one or two for everything. Same with modern rock the genres have become more specific. Older music had more of a mass appeal.

Maybe that's why I enjoy modern rock I liked that bans have kept it simple but have delve deep into genre.

they're about as authentic as it gets imo. both Funeral and Neon Bible are both masterpieces in my opinion. it just seems so real and different but in a good way.

and the Strokes - Is This it.

they kinda make me think of the Stones with this album. they really broke through into mainstream with an album filled with sex and drugs and issues that constantly arise in NYC. great just basic little rock that resembles Television back in the late 70's, but done so well.
