I've been singing and playing guitar for a week.
It's kind of addictive.

I play both... Depending on my mood I prefer acoustic or electric. Though I think I prefer acoustic.

One weird thing, with my stratocaster my fingers are ok. With my Epiphone SG it's really painful after 2-3 hours of playing...

That is weird. One would think that the shorter scale of the Epi(slacker strings) would be easier on the fingers.

Hello All :)

I play Electric Guitar mainly. I prefer the way they play to accoustic guitars, but you can't beat accoustics for festival singalongs :)

I love acoustic guitars as well, although I've been frustrated when direct recording with them. I can't use mics because I don't have a good acoustic space to record in. I don't like piezo pickups, plus, none of my three acoustics were born with pickups. I have LR Baggs I-beams installed on all three, but I'm still struggling to get my acoustics to sound as good recorded as they sound in person. I have a helix and have downloaded acoustic guitar IRs, but I haven't been completely successful replicating my acoustics ambient sound. I'll just keep working at it I guess.

I paid £3, 995.00 for a 2005 Gibson R7 last November.
I also spent £145.00 on the pickups I like and £60.00 on a new TonePros bridge I like (£50.00 for the part, £10.00 to have it installed).
£4, 200.00 in total.

It's an awesome guitar.

Almost bought an R9 that day from a near by shop for £3, 225.00 but the R7/guitar I found/bought is one I really wanted and was in budget, so I'm happy about it.

I set myself a budget that day of £4, 000.00 looking in the first shop where I saw that chambered R9, so when I found the guitar I wanted for £3, 995.00 - I played it (unplugged), loved how it sounded, bought it.

Bass Player here. My guitar skills have something to be desired but I'm a better than average bass player.

My 68 Fender Telecaster on the left and my cheapie Johnson on the right.

That's a nice old Fender bass you have there. Short scale neck right..?

Here's a pic of my favourite bass from my own collection. It's a 1983 Aria pro II SB 900 fretless. I've owned it from new and it's been all over the world but has survived almost completely intact and still looks like new. The pick ups are getting a bit tired now and I've been thinking about changing them so I might do that soon...
