Most rock guy's on here won't know this but the song WATERLOO SUNSET has a very special meaning to a relatively small group of diminishing men in Britain?.

Unbeknown to 98% of the British public the evocative song WATERLOO SUNSET by pure chance coincided with the 'end of steam hauled main line passenger trains' from Waterloo railway station in London to Salisbury, Bournemouth & Weymouth in July 1967. The song unintentionally sums up the feeling of a 'end of an era' when on a Friday night at Waterloo station the last steam hauled passenger train left Waterloo station for the last time.

The evening sun was finally setting on an end of an era at Waterloo station in July 1967 as the Kinks song WATERLOO SUNSET played across the airways...
