must`ve a different ears lol I like the album myself.............but the two album it was ages before I even liked them LOAD/RELOAD??????????
Load and Reload are not as bad as critics stuck in the 1980s who cry sellout (like morons) make them out to be. I've found them to grow over time and I enjoy those albums.
The only two shitty songs for me are The Memory Remains and Low Man's Lyric but good material for me to enjoy otherwise. St Anger is just balls with no substance or musical integrity to it.

Now Hardwired is far better than DM and anything else Garage Inc imo.

Reload took me a bit to like. Still in the bottom 3 or 4 albums for me, but at least I like some of it. When Load first came out, I hated it. But I was determined to figure out how they could put out such a weird album, so I kept listening. It didn't take long and I really got to like Load. There's some average stuff on it, but some really cool tracks imho.
I tend to think taking the best of the two albums would have made a hell of a great Load album with the rest being a b-sides type thing perhaps. Probably the beauty of owning both anyway is you can create your own Load with your favourite songs from each.

I don't mind most of Memory Remains, but I HATE that old broad warbling throughout it. I think she was one of James' gradeschool teachers or something. Anyway, that "la da da da, la la da da da ... " is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I agree with Low Man's Lyric. That's just a lame tune from start to finish.

Lars is a curious dude he was about the first person I ever heard adding the word AWESOME to anything and everything that he said??.

Also his Scandinavian/US accent is actually quite fascinating to listen to like when he recounts seeing DEEP PURPLE MkII back in 1973 when he was 10 years old which as you can guess was "F**king AWESOME!!".

The remastered Kill Em All and Ride the Lightning sound awesome and am glad I bought those. Can only hope being the album turns 30 next year that Justice will get the needed re-do on the bass mixing and even the drum sound to be less tinny.

I'd absolutely love is they remastered AJFA in a way that gives Jason his justice, but I've always thought it was a cool sounding album just the way it is. It has a really hard ass kicking sound to it..like tanks crushing their way across a battlefield.

In terms of the actual tones its fine but in terms of production it's shoddy and thin imo.

By thin, are you talking about the lack of reverb? Like it was recorded in a padded cell? I like that quality as well.

Thin as in the mix just lacked real heaviness and the absence of bass didn't help. Bass is always necessary in metal whether people care or not and is a key component to the rhythm sections.
Lack of reverb is a problem at times but not the biggest deal imo.
