As much as I like All Right Now (especially the full length version with Kossoff's guitar solo in full) I think I'll go with Stevie Miller's Rock 'n' Me cos that's probably my favourite Steve Miller song along with Take The Money And Run, The Joker & Fly Like An Eagle.

If it was the single version of All Right Now, you could possibly talk me into it. The longer, album version is SOOOO overplayed on FM/classic rock stations. You would think that Free was a 1-hit wonder with the fact that no one ever plays any of their other music. The band had some great hits that never catch 1 second of airplay.

So, that being said, I'll throw Steve Miller my vote.

Maybe rock radio stations out here in SoCal are somehow different, but in the early 70's we were also treated to Free's "Fire And Water" and "Wishing Well". They may not have been Top 40 hits like "All Right Now", but I knew Free for more than just that one song.

And once you delve into their albums, you discover album tracks that could have been on the radio, but weren't (considering the open-format the DJs had before radio stations became commercialized -- literally and figuratively -- in the late 70's and playlists became an edict from record company execs)

:) Free

Used to do a pretty good cover of Alright Now (long version) in a band I played in many years ago - so long ago it could almost be 'once upon a time' ;) - so it's a special one for me...
