Sad day...I seen AC/DC twice with Brian Johnson(Back in Black tour & Blow up Your Video tour) both tours were great but could not compare to the 3 times I seen them live between 1977 & 1979... sure as said before Angus & Bon were the show upfront where all eyes were on but I always also had my eyes on Malcolm & Cliff who just stood back by the amps pounding out the rhythm(along with Phil Rudd back on the drums)& the 2 would occasionally walk almost in sync up to their microphones to lend some backing vocals. The way Malcolm moved was almost like he had an electrical currant going through his body as he just stood in one spot & kind of shook while his head bobbed up and down.

Things didn’t change much in the Brian Johnson era for the way the band played onstage but the reason I mention the Bon Scott Era was because with Brian Johnson, AC/DC was a major arena headlining act with a much bigger production. The first time I seen AC/DC was with them opening for Aerosmith with just their amps & a drum set and the next 2 times was barebones stage setups in a 2500 seat theater so you were close and really seen the band as a whole which is why Malcolm & Cliff stood out so much on the smaller stage.

RIP Malcolm
