With the age differential here I thought this might be interesting.
I remember when my Mom brought home this 45 and couldn’t wait to play it.

I grew up during the 60s and my Mom, even though she was young, was not a fan of Rock N' Roll. Rather she played Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Barbra Streisand and others of that ilk.

But what I wound up really liking from her collection were these artists

Both my mother and father ( both born in 1927 BTW ) listened to Swing Time and other Jazz and Country ( Hank Williams, Roger Miller, Buck Owens, etc. ). My mother also liked stuff like Dean Martin, Engelburt Humperdink, Bing Crosby, etc. Wha was commonly referred to as Popular Music back in those days.
My mother also liked stuff like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, CS&N, CCR etc.
Though she would never admit it to my dad.

So your parents are Donnie and Marie? :D

My dad only liked and listened to country & western.

My mom was much cooler and had Mason Williams' Phonograph Record, Herb Alpert & his Tijuana Brass and Neil Diamond album or two.
