This is a very old thread, and it caused me great pain to decide on my fav.
So... going with the language of the thread title, I most definitely pick:
Deadwing by
Porcupine Tree (2005)
But... if I were to pick a fav from the twenty years before the thread was started (in 2010), I would go with a different album:
Psycho City by
Great White (1992)
The Great White album I had lots of fun with. It has the best guitar work of all their albums. Well written, too.
I feel the band reached their creative peak with Psycho City. Hot, sweaty, rockin' bar party music!
Porcupine Tree's Deadwing caught me in my mid-thirties... too old to rock-and-roll, but too young to die.
I was still drinking a lot, and I smoked a lot of cigarettes listening to Deadwing both alone and with whoever I
happened to be with at the time.
Best memories, from both of them!
